IEC standards dictate the patch cord connector performance for each grade of fiber-optic patch cord connector based on IEC 61753-1. As defined, there are four grades for insertion loss from A (best) to D (worst). For conventional patch cord connector, mated performance is over 0.5dB, even to 1.0dB.
