1,3-Dichloroacetone
1,3-Dichloroacetone is an important intermediate in the synthesis of quinolone antibacterial drugs (such as ciprofloxacin). Used in the synthesis of complex polycyclic peptides and other organic compounds. Due to its strong lachrymatory effect, it can also be used as a tear gas agent. It is also used in rubber processing and metal surface treatment in industrial applications.
