Candida antarctica Lipase B (CALB) is a widely studied and utilized enzyme due to its unique catalytic properties and broad applications across various industries. Its high enantioselectivity makes it an ideal biocatalyst for the resolution of racemic mixtures. Recent studies have explored the use of CALB in the kinetic resolution of β-lactam enantiomers, showing high enantiomeric excess (ee) values and improved yields. CALB is employed in the transesterification of triglycerides to produce biodiesel. Its ability to catalyze reactions in non-aqueous media makes it suitable for converting oils and fats into biofuels
