Chrome-Titaniferous (alundum)Electrocorundum

Chromium electrocorundum is obtained during the introduction of the oxide of chromium into the fusion of alumina. It has painting of ruby. The intensity of painting depends on a quantity of oxide of chromium, dissolved in the corundum. The abrasive ability of grain of chromium electrocorundum and its mechanical strength rises during the introduction of the oxide of chromium to 2%.The chromium-titaniferous electrocorundum (stamps: 95A, 94A) is produced with melting in the electric arched furnace of alumina with the addition of the alloying constituents (oxides of chromium and titanium)
