Electric Engine Oil Pumps

The electric engine oil pump is used to increase the oil pressure and help the oil reach other lubricated parts from the oil pan in the lubricating oil system. Without

the electric engine oil pump, it is difficult for the oil to reach the friction parts from the oil pan, and its lubricating effect cannot be effectively exerted. In addition, the electric engine pump oil can also store a certain amount of oil.

How To Test Electric Engine Oil Pumps?
The electric engine oil pump makes sure the oil circulates in the lubrication system, and can deliver enough oil to the lubricating parts with a high enough pressure at any speed of the engine. When the oil pump is damaged, the oil pressure will be insufficient, and the instrument fault light will be illuminated. Generally, oil pump damage can be judged by the following three methods.
1. Visual observation. Unscrew the oil cap and observe whether the oil splashes and lubricates when the camshaft in the valve cover rotates. If the amount of oil is small, there is a problem with the electric engine oil pump.
2. Use an oil pressure gauge to measure the oil pressure. Remove the oil pressure sensor, connect the oil pressure gauge, start the vehicle, and read the value in the gauge. If the value is lower than the normal range (0.2-0.5Mpa), and the oil passage blockage and circuit failure are excluded, the electric engine oil pump is damaged.
3. Remove the electric engine oil pump. Remove and disassemble the electric engine oil pump and check whether the internal oil cavity is worn or blocked. After dealing with the internal wear failure, you can find a small amount of clean gasoline to simulate the electric engine oil pump to work and pay attention to fire prevention, observe whether the oil pressure is normal. If the electric engine oil pump cannot pump out gasoline normally or the pump output is small, you need to replace the electric engine oil pump with a new one.
