The high quality bauxite is obtained in Shanxi Province and Henan Province as the main raw material to smelt brown al2o3 fused alumina. The details are as follows:

Requirements for alumina content: Al2O3: 87-88%, the alumina content should not be less than 85%.

Silica content requirements: SiO2 content of bauxite should not exceed 4%, which is basically maintained between 2-3.4%.

Bulk density of high alumina material: bulk density at least 2.3-2.5g/cm3.

Others: CaO+MgO should not be higher than 0.6% or 0.8%, generally the lower the better. Regarding the problem of high CaO content in brown fused alumina, CaO content of the bauxite is required to be as low as possible, or the refining time of brown fused alumina is adjusted to achieve the purpose of reducing impurities.
