Soap nut is the fruit of the RITHA, a tree found primarily in Nepal in the mountain belt which covers east to west. Traditionally, the Soap nuts were used in Nepal as detergent for various purposes. The soap nuts is harvested only one time in a year during December to March and can be harvested about 100 tons each year. The shell contains saponin, which is know for its ability to cleanse and was. Yet this is not ordinary soap.
