How Does The Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Work?

The tire pressure monitoring system can be divided into two types, one is the indirect tire pressure monitoring system, which judges whether the tire is abnormal by the difference of the tire speed, the other is the direct tire tire pressure system, by adding four tire pressure sensor in the tire, which can automatically monitor tire pressure and temperature in real time when the vehicle is stationary or while driving, and give timely alarms to tire high pressure, low pressure, and high temperature, so as to avoid traffic accidents caused by tire failures and ensure driving safety.

The automotive tire monitor system includes a tire pressure sensor ① and a TPMS receiver ②. The pressure, temperature, acceleration, and battery voltage data detected by the tire pressure sensor are transmitted to a dashboard ④ through a CAN bus ③. Select CAN transceiver and CAN controller, use CAN bus technology to send relevant alarm and fault information to the dashboard, the dashboard processes the information, and displays the fault code on the screen while performing sound and light alarms.
