Ethanol, sodium salt
It is used as a strong alkaline catalyst, an ethoxylation agent, and as a coagulant and reducing agent in organic synthesis. Pharmaceutical products using sodium ethoxide include phenobarbital, indomethacin, phenytoin, methyl dopa, tetracaine hydrochloride, diethylzinc, methotrexate, pyrimethamine, piperacillin, etc. In addition, it is also used in pesticides and as an analytical reagent.
